What Is Badminton?
To start with, badminton is a game where you hit a shuttlecock back and forth over a net with a lightweight racket. The main aim is to land the shuttlecock in your opponent’s court in a way that they can’t return it. Whether you prefer playing singles (one-on-one) or doubles (teams of two), it’s a flexible game. Because of its simplicity, anyone can join in—no matter your experience or fitness level.
How Do You Play?
First of all, the game begins with a serve—where you hit the shuttle diagonally into your opponent’s side of the court. From there, it’s all about rallying, which means moving quickly and strategising to outwit each other. Meanwhile, the sport’s fast-paced nature helps you stay energised. Whether you’re playing a quick, spirited match or an extended game, badminton keeps you active and—most importantly—makes you smile.

Additionally, it’s a sport that encourages participation from all levels. By promoting badminton, we aim to foster teamwork, build confidence and create a sense of belonging. Ultimately, we want to develop welcoming spaces where everyone feels comfortable to get involved, enjoy themselves and stay healthy.
